Giveaway: Campbell's AdDress Your Heart!

I was asked to help spread the word about the “AdDress Your Heart” campaign. I was given a gift basket with a few samples of Campbell's healthy food options to try out. Some of them I already use – such as the healthy request soups and others were nice to try, such as their Swanson's canned chicken, which is a nice change from a tuna sandwich! You have a chance to win this nice gift basket too, but before we get to that, let me just tell you a little more about the “AdDress Your Heart” campaign.

For the fifth consecutive year Campbell’s Soup Company has partnered with the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement, and is mobilizing moms and people across the country to raise awareness for the fight against heart disease with their “AdDress Your Heart” campaign. This Year NBC’s Parenthood star Monica Potter and NFL mom Deborah Johnson have partnered with Campbell’s to spread the word about the importance of heart health. You can read more about it here: Campbell's AdDress Your Heart Campaign.

As moms, we are (usually) the ones that have a huge impact on what our family members eat. I believe that it is important to read the labels of the foods that we are allowing into out houses and into our families bodies, as well as our own. We should be the ones that are educating our children in making good choices in their lives, and especially in what they are eating. This could help to lower childhood obesity and in turn, lower the percentage of those that end up with heart disease. I try to avoid foods that contain MSG, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and artificial sweeteners. I am sure that there are other ingredients to avoid, but those are the main ones that I look for.

Now, for the giveaway! You will win everything that is seen in this photo, which includes:

A custom made fleece

An apron to wear while you cook your favorite meals – I like how it is easily adjustable to fit any size person

An assortment of Campbell’s “heart healthy” products

I always love reading your blog. :) You are a good writer. This blog entry was really interesting to me because of my heart issues. I am always trying to things that I can eat that has less sodium in it. My heart hates high sodium, and it lets me know especially when I try to eat any fried foods. I find it such a struggle to find the right foods that I can actually eat that are heart healthy. I would love to sample these special items so that I can find more kinds of things that are good for my heart. :)

And you give the labels to your school when you're done so they can collect the points, right??

Seriously, I read labels for the hubby to avoid MSG and aluminum, mostly. My son won't eat soup, so I haven't had to worry about gluten and casein in those products.

I am not a label reader. Probably not a good thing, but I usually have 3 kids at the grocery store with me and I don't have time...or the kids would drive me even more crazy!
